SIGNAL FILE 007 — OPEN CASE

Georg Jensen

Luxury goods · WeChat commerce · China

2 storefronts (Mini Program + H5), one backend

Two storefronts, one place to change a price. They look separate to a shopper and are the same shop to the merchant.— D.C.

0 friction from account creation to WeChat pay

Every extra tap between wanting and paying is a customer you never hear from again. We removed the account.— D.C.

THE IDEA

Danish luxury, fluent in WeChat.

THE ENGINE

WeChat Mini Program + H5 shop on Youzan — WeChat Pay, memberships, coupons.

Georg Jensen’s China team needed to meet Chinese consumers where they actually shop — inside WeChat, not on a Western-style website. A standard eCommerce build would have been beautifully irrelevant.

We built a WeChat Mini Program and H5 shop on Youzan: automatic account creation for users arriving from WeChat and Weibo, native WeChat Pay checkout, fast performance on Chinese networks, plus the marketing machinery the market expects — membership levels, coupon systems, detailed analytics.

The lesson this file keeps teaching: the idea travels, the engine must be local. It is the same discipline we now apply to Québec’s two languages — adapt the system, never dilute the brand.
